Starting from 10 Transparent Bags: A Brand Born to Conquer Parenting Chaos
bagtory didn't begin with a calculated corporate strategy; it started with a mother's unconditional love and a desire to bring order to daily living.
The story begins back in the early 2000s, when my eldest daughter was just a month old and my maternity leave was coming to an end. The thought of returning to my advertising agency job with its notoriously long hours meant missing out on her precious milestones. That day, I told my husband, "I want to watch her grow up with my own eyes." Just like that, I walked away from my high-paying advertising career to become a stay-at-home mom.
When my son arrived two and a half years later, I faced mountains of clothes, toys, and learning materials every single day. As someone who values efficiency, spending endless hours just searching for items was utterly frustrating.
Then came a lightbulb moment: "If I use transparent, square bags to store their clothes, I could see everything at a glance. Wouldn't finding things be so much faster?"
Fortunately, my sister Janet was a bag manufacturing expert. I immediately asked her: "Could you help me make 10 of these transparent bags for my own use at home?"
Once I packed the kids' supplies into these bags, my closet became instantly neat and organized, and my daily efficiency skyrocketed. Soon after, my mom-friends from the parenting forum—we were actually the very first group on Baby Kingdom to host a half-year baby birthday party!—came to visit. When I opened my closet, they gasped: "This is brilliant! We need this so badly! Where can we buy it?"
Seeing their overwhelming enthusiasm, my sister Janet took charge with the vision of a true manufacturing professional and decided to officially launch a brand to mass-produce this solution for parents everywhere. Naturally, I went from being her "Customer No. 1" to fighting alongside her as Co-founder.
In 2010, bagtory was officially born.
The Meaning Behind Our Names: Bagtory & Esee Bag
Why "Bagtory"? With Janet's expertise in production, "Bag" was naturally our core. We combined it with "Factory" to symbolize strict quality control and craftsmanship, and "Victory" as our shared wish for this sister-led venture to succeed.
Bag + Factory / Victory = Bagtory.
Why "Esee Bag High-Definition Storage Bag"? The name of our flagship creation was inspired by the HDTV revolution at the time. Looking at our clear, dust-proof bag that revealed its contents instantly, we realized it was truly the "High-Definition" of home storage!
For the English name, since the primary feature was being "Easy to see," we created "Esee Bag"! Noticeably, Esee sounds identical to Easy, embodying our mission to make home organization effortless and life so much easier for every parent.
From those initial 10 transparent bags in my closet to where we are today, bagtory has grown to offer over 30 sizes and styles, in up to 40 different colors! Our footprint has also expanded far beyond Hong Kong, reaching overseas to serve countless families across Taiwan, Malaysia, and beyond over the past decade.
